The surprises finally stopped in the semifinals for the women--will the same happen on the men's side?

CENTRE - SHOW COURT - 1.00 PM START

1. Tomas Berdych (CZE) [12] vs Novak Djokovic (SRB) [3]
2. Andy Murray (GBR) [4] vs Rafael Nadal (ESP) [2]

The only possible blowout I could imagine would be Berdych over Djokovic, but I don't even see Berdych winning that match so I think we'll be in for some very close battles.

If Serena doesn't win today, we have the craziest draw of all time on our hands.

CENTRE - SHOW COURT - 1.00 PM START

1. Vera Zvonareva (RUS) [21] vs Tsvetana Pironkova (BUL)
2. Serena Williams (USA) [1] vs Petra Kvitova (CZE)

Both these matches should be pretty tight, I think.  Here's to some solid tennis in both.  Because at this stage of the tournament, there's no quantity, just quality.

Wimbledon Day 9 Open Thread And Discussion

LONDON, ENGLAND - JUNE 29: Kim Clijsters of Belgium in action during her Quarter Final match against Vera Zvonareva of Russia on Day Eight of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on June 29, 2010 in London, England. A blockbuster slate of men's matches is on tap for Day 9.  Whereas the Australian and US Opens both split the men's quarters over four sessions, Wimbledon does them all at once.  It's frustrating in that it's impossible to see all the matches in full, but its awesome in that it's a great day to binge on tennis.

Whereas yesterday's women's actions looked sure to be surprise-less (and weren't), this day of men's matches looks far more primed for upsets.  Federer and Nadal, especially, will have their hands full.

CENTRE - SHOW COURT - 1.00 PM START

1. Roger Federer (SUI) [1] vs Tomas Berdych (CZE) [12]

COURT 1 - SHOW COURT - 1.00 PM START

1. Novak Djokovic (SRB) [3] vs Yen-Hsun Lu (TPE)

1. Kim Clijsters (BEL) [8] vs Vera Zvonareva (RUS) [21]
