Upset City

In the famous words of John McEnroe, "You Cannot be Serious." Thats the first thing that came to my mind after watching Robin Soderling a man who had been untouchable and dominated the first set lost to a unheard of player from Ukraine. After the jumps some important stats and a look at whats next for Dolgopolov

Star-divide

Dolgopolov beat the 4th ranked player 1-6, 6-3, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2. He broke Soderling 9 times to put this in perspective Soderling had only been broken twice before the match. Dolgopolov out aced one of the fastest serve and out winnered some of the fastest shots. Dolgopolov won an incredible 79% of points when he hit his first serve in and was able to attack on Soderling second serve winning 62% of the points off Soderling's second serve. Dolgopolov did get help from Soderling who uncharacteristically  made 51 unforced errors and had the same number of aces as double faults (6). Dolgopolov however will have no time to celebrate he will face either Andy Murray or Jurgen Melzer both of which will be tough matchups and provide new challenges. I believe Murray will beat Melzer pretty easily in 3 or 4. But either way, Dolgopolov will again need to take risks and control the pace of play with big shots. Lastly, a key to Dolgopolov's win was forcing Soderling to play 69% of his shots from besides the baseline if he wants to beat either one of his next opponents he will need to do the same thing.
