US Open Day 7 Schedule & Open Thread

Whose visor will levitate on Day 7? (Photo by Jim McIsaac/Getty Images)

Hello and welcome to Day 7 of the US Open, the first day of second week (fourth round) action for the women and the conclusion of the men's third round.

Should be some great stuff today, for sure.  John Isner and Sam Querrey take on higher ranked but beatable seeds, former #1s Ana Ivanovic and Kim Clijsters battle on the women's side, and Rafael Nadal takes on Gilles Simon, an opponent he could easily bench press.

Schedule after the jump, followed by your numerous, insightful comments

Clijsters and Schiavone were ruthless out there today...

I expected Ivanovic to hold up in some of the baseline rallies, but she buckled as the pace got higher… And Schiavone handing Pavlyuchenkova a bagel says it all…

Peer breaks Venus...

could she finally break her Williams duck today?

Venus-Peer may have been the best match of the women’s tournament thus far.

I think I’d say Sharapova-Groth.

That one was good, but Groth definitely faded once things turned in the Sharapova direction.

oh man Murray

That’s no way to bow out of a slam…again. At least it’s good to see Querry rolling, very impressive. I like his chances against Wawrinka, much better than if it had been Murray. In fact, an American quarterfinal matchup seems very possible at this point. That Wozniacki/Sharapova match is going to be mad ridiculous.
