Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Isn't Up To Speed On Jeremy Lin, 'Linning'

Capt

As I previewed when the honor was announced, Billie Jean King was today awarded the Presidential Medal for Freedom by President Barack Obama.

She is the second tennis player to receive the honor (after Arthur Ashe), and the first female athlete.

Before the honor was announced, I asked her some questions during a press event for World Team Tennis, which you can read here.

Congrats again, Billie Jean.

The first female athelete to receive the honor and I did not see any story in my local paper about this? No respect for tennis and no respect for female athletes in general. She has done more than anyone to advocate for equal opportunities for women in sports and for people in general. Congrats to her. It is well deserved.
