"I didn’t know it was match points, guys, that’s the whole reason. Because I looked at the score, and was like ‘well, it’s 20-20, it’s not a big deal. I still have a game left, this doesn’t matter.’
"And [Washington Kastles Coach] Murphy [Jensen] comes up to me, and he’s like ‘so what do you want for dinner?’ And I was like ‘well, I want sushi, actually but I don’t know!’ And he was like ‘you really want sushi?’ And I said ‘yeah! Rainbow Roll, California Roll, avocado, you know, anything!’ And he said ‘OK, great!’
"And I just kept playing then."
Washington Kastles player Olga Puchkova on what was going through her mind as she was facing two championship points vs. Vania King of the Springfield Lasers in the World Team Tennis finals. Puchkova saved the match points and won the event and the title for the Kastles by the score of 23-20.
