Melanie Oudin Blogging from Fed Cup

Just about all the women's tennis is done for the year.  This week though, is the finals of The Federation Cup.  The U.S. vs. Italy.  No Williams' Sisters, no Sharapova, no Clijsters, who is going to watch?

Let's just say the results from Reggio Calbria won't be on the front page of your Sunday sports section.  Melanie  Oudin is playing, and it will be interesting to see how she does.  The U.S. has not won a Fed Cup title since 2000, and they appear to be underdogs this week.

Oudin will be blogging from Italy all week on usta.com.  Link here:  http://www.usta.com/USTA/Global/Pro_Tennis/Fed_Cup/Feature/2009/USvsItaly/Melanie_Oudin_Reggio_Calabria_blog.aspx

I was really surprised that neither Williams is playing this tie, after they had indicated some interest in doing so. Considering they were already on the right side of the Atlantic for it by being in Doha, I really thought a trip to Italy for a Fed Cup final wasn’t too much to ask.

Yeah, I’m surprised, too. The talk around USOpen seemed like both would be interested. Oh well, hopefully the girls surprise us again.

Not surprise it doesn't improve ranking and they are terrible on clay.

those 2 only care about themselves

Please don't tell me what to do or think, what I might say is a personal opinion.
