Andre Agassi admits to using Crystal Meth.
Tennis legend Andre Agassi used crystal meth in 1997, failed a drug test, and boldly lied in a letter to tennis officials in order to successfully dodge a competition ban, according to selections from the book published online Tuesday night by an Australian newspaper.
Agassi also spoke about this in an online story to People.
"I can't speak to addiction, but a lot of people would say that if you're using anything as an escape, you have a problem,"
"I feel ashamed, of course," Agassi writes in his description of the letter. "I promise myself that this lie is the end of it."
The forthcoming autobiography, entitled "Open," is due out Nov. 9

Wow that says what happen to him in 97
The wrist injury must have drove him to this I had a wrist injury and payed through a college season and it was hell. But I he showed everyone what kind of person he really was when he worked so hard to come back. I just wonder how much of be married to hollywood Brook Shields brought the drug scene into his life. I mean it was your typical star studded marry and divorce, and I really think making her move to Vegas didn’t help.
Please don't tell me what to do or think, what I might say is a personal opinion.

I don’t understand the backlash honestly. A bunch of analysts/columnists and the like keep asking “why is he doing this” and I’m tired of people talking about something will tarnish a athletes legacy.
He came out told the truth and it wasn’t as if he threw the ATP under the bus they’ll be fine. In comparison to baseball or what have you. Of course the thing is that they caught him but hey they believed his excuse and obviously didn’t catch him again.
We’re always asking to know about all these details then when its something people don’t like you get a lot of negative attention. I thought it was fine he didn’t like playing tennis at times ok I believe him. Its an isolated sport and he seems to be a pretty out going person not to mention this isn’t the first story of parents who nudged their kid into a profession. Of course this went well for him in the end heh didn’t know about the wig though I thought that was funny.
Those who criticized him for doing this I think will see later how he’ll be received and how he’ll benefit from it honestly. He doesn’t have anything to hide anymore (not that I think any of these things were all that horrible)
